MY COLLECTION OF SHORT STORIES:
‘The Edge of the Country’ is a collection of 14 stories (a “baker’s dozen” of genre work plus an extra, more mainstream work), written over many years by ‘Midnight Street’ editor, Trevor Denyer.
This is his first published collection. Ralph Robert Moore has said of this work:
Absolutely beautiful, and moving. You made me care about the characters. And I love the ease of the descriptive phrases"
The stories cover many themes, from visceral horror, through classic supernatural, to dark fantasy/sci-fi stories, and maintain a poetic, yet dynamic edge that captivates the reader and remains in the memory long afterwards.
There is a fascinating introduction by writer and editor, Allen Ashley, author of the acclaimed ‘Planet Suite’.

"I really enjoyed your collection. The Edge of the Country was full of strange and wonderful stories. It’s difficult to pick out favourites, but I liked the nasty ‘Killing Devils’, the haunting ‘The Silent Hours’ (great title) and ‘A Place for the Dying’. Yep, as you probably guessed, I liked the bleak stuff best, but I thought all the stories worked well together, and I was thoroughly entertained throughout."
